Qu’ran Burning Having Negative Impact for Christian Ministry Overseas

The news of Florida Pastor Terry Jones’ plan to burn the Qu’ran on the ninth anniversary of the 2001 September 11th attack, despite having been called off, is having negative impact on Christian ministry in Muslim-dominated parts of the world, particularly in Indonesia and Afghanistan. Mission Network News has a report. As Muslim outrage grows overseas, hostility towards American and Christian ministries has also been on the rise. Please pray for peace and for the safety of Christian ministries in these parts of the world.

As the 1040 Movement unfolds, we are again reminded of the desperate need for peace in the Middle East. At this crucial juncture in history, with so much warfare and unrest in that region, we believe that God has a special plan for the world for which the peace of Jerusalem will be indispensable. Dear Pastors, Leaders and Friends,

I would like to personally encourage each of you to join with millions worldwide the first Sunday of October for “The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.” It is critical as believers that we continue to daily uplift Israel in our prayers, as we are commanded in scripture to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

As many of you know, I have been traveling for the past 3 years to Israel to understand God’s heart for His chosen people, to stand with them in prayer & expectancy for God’s purposes to be fulfilled in the end days. I am now working with Dr. Robert Stearns (Eagle Wings Ministries) to support and mobilize prayer around the world, especially amongst the Asian & Asian American body of Christ worldwide to pray & support the day of prayer each year.

I am positive, as revealed in scriptures (Revelation 16) that Asia holds a key role in bringing the Gospel back to Jerusalem, as well as be one of the strongest forces of spiritual support to Israel as a nation. Those of you who have seen our film 1040 know the importance of Asia and Israel walking together to finish the Great Commission. Now is the time to mobilize the Asian church globally to pray for the peace of God’s chosen nation & it’s key to fulfilling Biblical prophecy.

From our friends at Christian Post come another report on the plight of Christians in Indonesia- the largest Muslim country in the world: Around 300 Muslim protesters and 300 police officers surrounded members of the Batak Christian Protestant Church (Huria Kristen Batak Protestan or HKBP) on Sunday as they worshiped in an open field in Ciketing, Bekasi, local sources said.
