parlund@allnations.us
www.allnations.us

Vision
All Nation’s vision is to see a growing number of disciples of Christ in every people group and nation through self-replicating churches. All Nations exists to make Jesus known, loved, worshipped, and glorified in the nations. We believe that one of the most effective ways to change the world is to initiate viable indigenous church planting movements in every part of the world. All Nations train, send and care for missionaries who are cross-cultural church planting coaches. We encourage our missionaries to focus on the neglected peoples of the earth, including people who are culturally, linguistically, or economically isolated or underprivileged. All Nations also has ten community development projects ranging from AIDS orphan care and feeding lepers, to small businesses and schools.

Expected terms of service:
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
We look for believers who desire to make a lasting impact in the nations and see literally hundreds of thousands of disciples of Jesus Christ through reproducible indigenous church planting movements.

Application and Candidacy Process
Prospective applicants can apply to the 6-month CPx program, which is a highly comprehensive and practical cross-cultural church planting training. Applicants can receive CPx training without requiring to join All Nations. Upon completing CPx, graduates can decide to formally apply to be sent out as an All Nations missionary.

Training Program
Training is accomplished through three programs called the Church Planting Experience (CPx), Student CPx, and Global Storm 1)CPx is a six-month course that teaches principles of cross-cultural church planting movements. Students from many different countries come to Kansas City for three months of classroom instruction and outreach. This classroom time is practical, experiential, relational, interactive, and based on real world missions experience. After the three months in Kansas City, students go overseas in teams for three months of outreach to put into practice the principles they have learned. While they are on the field, we have weekly skype and email contact to provide pastoral care and strategy coordination. We also visit them on-site twice for coaching and debriefing. During these outreaches, people are often baptized and simple churches planted. Since 2001, we have trained 98 church planters, 67% of whom are actively engaged in missions. George Patterson, internationally renown author of Church Multiplication Guide, has endorsed CPx: “I highly recommend this training, if you want to plant churches in neglected fields.” 2) Student CPx: For those who are in university and not ready to go overseas fulltime, we train them to plant simple churches on their college campuses through the two-week training, called Student CPx. Students are taught to live missionally and practice the same principles that cross-cultural missionaries live by. College campus is the most strategic mission field on earth: within one square mile, representatives from almost every nation on earth gather to be trained and sent as leaders into every sphere of society. Since launching this strategic Student CPx in July 2008, 143 students from 62 colleges have been trained, resulting in 18 campus churches being planted. In 2009, three more trainings are planned in Lawrence, Kansas; Tainan, Taiwan; and, Austin, Texas. Our goal is at each location to have students who have been trained to carry out the leadership of future trainings. 3) Global Storm is our short-term mission program for people who are ready to get serious about Jesus’ Great Commission. Short-term trips are tailored for young people who want to seize God’s heart for the nations. Global Storm offers shorter 2-week trips to longer 2-month trips for the summer.

16. Christar

P.O. Box 14866
Reading PA 19612 Us
800.755.7955
info@christar.org
www.christar.org

Vision
Throughout our history, the people of Christar have been driven by a passion to preach the gospel to the least-reached. Our desire is to bring the light of Christ to East Asians, Hindus and Muslims who do not have access to a church where the gospel is preached in their own language and culture. Our mission-wide goal is to plant culturally relevant churches among the least-reached. Realizing that 84 percent of the world is closed to missionaries, we specialize in ministering in creative-access or limited-access countries.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
The most important qualification for an applicant is an ongoing, life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ as the Lord of his or her life. Long-term applicants should be committed to the goal of church-planting among least-reached peoples through evangelism, discipleship and training of national leaders. Short-term (two weeks to two years) candidates must be open to the possibility of God’s leading toward long-term missions. Applicants need to be committed to prayer as a basis for the work of missions as well as in agreement with the Christar doctrinal statement. They should also be committed to working on a team, accountability and creativity. Long-term applicants, in general, are required to have knowledge of the Bible that would equal having taked 30 hours worth of Bible classes. Vocational/professional training is increasingly advantageous the establishment of platforms for entry and service in least-reached countries.

Application and Candidacy Process
The first step towards joining Christar is filling out the preliminary information form at www.christar2.org. Someone from the New Personnel Department will get in touch with applicants and walk them through the other steps of the application process. These steps will include: completing a formal application, writing a personal statement of faith, taking Biblical knowledge and doctrine assessments, providing reference forms and attending New Personnel Orientation. Short-termers attend BLAZE, a five-day orientation program which teaches about the mission, vision and values of Christar, relationally connects short-termers to one another and their support staff and equips them for the spiritual and cultural challenges ahead of them.

Training Program
Training includes our summer training and outreach program called FirstSTOP. FirstSTOP offers three tracks of cross-cultural evangelism to Christar personnel who desire more training and to anyone who wants to learn how to evangelize least-reached peoples. One track is Manarah, an intensive three-week program of evangelism and outreach among Muslims living in the Detroit area. This unique program gives its students more than 70 hours of hands-on visitation in the homes of Muslims. Our Hindu FirstSTOP (Darshan) and our Chinese FirstSTOP (Walls) are held in India and China, respectively. (For more information about FirstSTOP, go to Christar.com/short.htm.) These programs are beneficial for both long- and short-term personnel. We also provide a two-week training program that is part of our New Personnel Orientation for long-term personnel (over two years). Some of the topics dealt with in training sessions include: the dynamics of working on a team, working with internationals on your team, culture shock, raising a family on the mission field, raising support, the value of sound doctrine and theology in church-planting, spiritual warfare on the mission field, biblical ethics in tentmaking ministry, sexual purity and a godly walk. Short-term personnel (two weeks to two years) attend an abbreviated five-day program called BLAZE. In addition, long-term candidates are required to attend a language-acquisition course, which will help them with the techniques of learning a language. We believe in continued learning, so training is ongoing, both on the field and during furlough, or stateside ministry.

Funding
Missionaries are required to trust God to provide their funds through the Body of Christ, including home churches, partnering churches and individuals. Support figures are set by current missionaries on the field and then approved by the finance committee of the Board of Trustees. Support is based upon family size and country of ministry, not job description. We try to coordinate the missionary’s standard of living as closely as possible to the standard of living of his or her country of ministry.

Serving on the field on a team or as a team leader. (OK, you didn’t expect this one to be first, but let’s face it, the best training comes from doing.) 2. A six-week Team Leader Training Camp is designed to give those with leadership gifts the confidence and affirmation they need to begin new works among unengaged Muslim people groups. 3. On-field Training is provided by our Master Builders Imitative, and includes language and culture acquisition, peacemaking, and church planting training, among other things. 4. Vision
Empowering everyday, workplace Christians to use their secular professions effectively to bring Christ to people in other cultures is the purpose of Global Opportunities (GO). For Great Commission Christians, GO provides overseas job resources and counsel, training & mentoring for effectiveness, marketplace missions (tentmaking) seminars and courses, in-country connections, GO World mini-journal, and field support. GO partner with individuals, churches and mission agencies for this task.

Expected terms of service:
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
Generally, a relevant college degree plus 3-5 years experience are required for global marketplace jobs. It is possible and valuable for people to take short-term jobs outside their profession (like English teaching) in order to get their feet wet. Spiritually, the greatest predictor of ministry effectiveness abroad is effectiveness here before going–specifically effectiveness in personal evangelism, discipling, leading seeker and discipleship Bible studies, developing leaders, and developing home fellowships. GO provides a 4-day intensive course in the core principles and skills for effectiveness to equip Christians.

Application and Candidacy Process
Since people go as self-supported, marketplace witnesses, they are generally employed by a secular entity which provides the primary context for witness. They are not employees of GO. However, we invite people to form a partnership agreement with GO committing to shared vision and values, to GO’s training course, to reporting to GO leaders, and to working to advance self-supporting, workplace missions (tentmaking). We are more flexible with those doing short-term introductory work.

Training Program
GO offers several major inputs: 1) free online training materials beginning with “Tentmaking 101″ articles; 2) Tentmaking Seminars to introduce marketplace missions and get people started; and 3) intensive 4-day “GO Equipped!” courses. In addition, we provide ongoing mentoring as people request it by email. We always encourage people to attend the course before going abroad, especially for long-term.

Funding
Basically, they are self-supporting, workplace witnesses/disciple-makers, living out and communicating the gospel in the midst of everyday life. In some cases, they may need limited supplemental support which can come through their local church.

Vision
Maryknoll was established by Catholic bishops of the United States to promote the missionary vocation of all baptized Catholics and to commission US Catholics to overseas mission service. We proclaim God’s Word, Love and Mercy to all. We joyfully celebrate our faith through Eucharist, liturgy and prayer. Committed to inculturation and an option for the poor, we search for new ways to be the Church in service to God’s Reign. We walk with the poor and indigenous peoples in their struggles for justice against economic, social and cultural oppression. Everywhere we are touched by the triumph of the human spirit and enriched by encountering people’s faith experience. We join with them as Catholic priests, brothers, sisters and laity in announcing the healing, reconciling and liberating Jesus.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
Generally Maryknoll candidates experience a sense of God’s call in their lives. They mature with an understanding of their Catholic Faith and participate actively in the Church. They desire to make a commitment to those who are less fortunate and demonstrate this through various kinds of volunteer service. They express an openness to people of other cultures and those who have other visions of the world and ways of living. They are generally adventurous, curious, compassionate and resourceful with a sense of humor and ability to thrive in situations of ambiguity and challenge. Those discerning to missionary priesthood or religious life are also willing to attain the skills needed to live a celibate life that will make them totally accessible to those in need. Maryknoll priest and brother applicants are expected to be single Catholic men between the ages of 21 and 40, in good health (physically and emotionally), in college or have a college degree, technical training or its equivalent, and have an aptitude for studies. Maryknoll sister applicants are expected to be single Catholic women between the ages of 23 and 35 in good health (physically and emotionally) with a desire to respond in faith and to commit one’s self to God through service to others in mission and celibate life in community. Work experience or professional training are helpful. Maryknoll lay missioner applicants are expected to be Catholics active in U.S. Church; U.S. citizens or permanent residents; age 23 years and older; single, couples, or families with one or two children 8 years old or younger when the family begins orientation. Priests and religious brothers and sisters may also join the Maryknoll Lay Missioners as associates.

Application and Candidacy Process
Application processes vary by vocation and program. Generally, those applying to join as prospective Maryknoll priest, brother, sister and lay missioner candidates will complete a detailed written application, submit an autobiography, provide written references and academic transcripts, undergo health-related examinations, and successfully complete a set of interviews. The length of the application process may vary by applicant but generally takes not less than 4-6 months. Short-term program applications vary by program but are generally a very much abbreviated form of the above process. Maryknoll’s candidacy programs also vary by vocation and the nature of the prospective mission assignment. Men aspiring to become Maryknoll missionary priests complete formal seminary studies at Catholic Theological Union and participate fully as community members in Maryknoll’s Initial Formation Program. Components of the program include community life & prayer, ministry internships and an extended overseas training component of approximately 2 1/2 years. Most men spend 5-6 years in formation before ordination and sending as missionary priests. Similar to priest candidates, Maryknoll brother candidates complete an Initial Formation program but do not enroll in seminary studies. Instead, they complete individual coursework that pertains to their prospective ministry as missionary brothers. Most men typically spend 4 to 5 years in formation before taking final oath as a Maryknoll missionary brother. Maryknoll Sister candidates also complete an extended formation program which includes 2 years of community life, ministry and studies in Chicago, several months of preparation for overseas ministry at our New York Center and then assignment overseas. A period of several months of reflection usually precedes a candidate’s final vows as a Maryknoll missionary sister. Most women take about 3 years to reach their first vows and an additional 6 years to make final vows. Maryknoll lay mission (men, women, couples and families) candidates receive a thirteen-week orientation which is held September to December. Orientation includes classes in social analysis, spirituality of mission, cross-cultural study, and various other workshops. After orientation, language studies are provided overseas. A Mission Integration Program for returning missioners is also provided at the end of one’s first term of service. Initial lay mission assignments are for 3 1/2 years and are renewable for additional terms with Maryknoll approval. Maryknoll’s short-term mission opportunities have varying orientation arrangements but no formal candidacy programs.

We are ideally looking for people with backgrounds in primary and secondary education but will occasionally higher outstanding candidates who have majored in fields other than education but have a passion to reach children and their families.

Application and Candidacy Process
After we have made contact with potential applicants, they will be required to fill out an approximate 10 page application and return it to us. It typically takes us a month to review the application and contact all of the references involved. If we desire to pursue a candidate further, we will typically set up a personal interview with them to discuss their interest, passions, and experience and how they might fit with New Life Academy’s vision of Christian education. Once we have interviewed all the possible candidates, we will make a final decision about whom we are going to hire. So the whole process from submitting the application to hiring takes about two to three months depending on the number of applicants we have each year.

Training Program
The new teachers are given a tour of the local community upon their arrival in Okinawa. The new arrivals are introduced to the local currency, traffic rules, shopping areas, local churches and modes of transportation. During the year they will be given optional tours of the various tourist sites throughout the island by a staff member. When the school begins the teachers will receive a one week introduction to the school and the curriculum. They will spend one day discussing the duties and responsibilities of the teacher at New Life Academy. The next several days will be aimed at developing goals for the upcoming year. There are bi-monthly meetings to discuss concerns and difficulties that a teacher may be experiencing. Each year the school will attempt to provide an in service on a topic of interest that is relevant to the goals of the school for the year. In support of the teacher’s particular needs of adjusting to the new culture the pastor’s and principal’s door is always open to support the staff members.

Funding
New Life Academy funds the bulk of the expenses for people’s travel and living expenses while they are on Okinawa. However, we always encourage potential teachers to raise additional support from their local churches and friends for their time on Okinawa.

Richard Durston – Recruitment Contact
10 W. Dry Creek Circle
Littleton CO 80120 Us
1-800-422-5330
info@omf.org
www.us.omf.org

Vision
OMF International has proclaimed Jesus Christ among the peoples of East Asia since its founding as the China Inland Mission by Hudson Taylor in 1865. This diverse fellowship of 1,600 Christians from 30 nationalities ministers with a passion to realize an indigenous, biblical church movement in each people group of East Asia. Continuing the pioneering, risk-taking legacy of Hudson Taylor, we use a wide variety of creative short-term and long-term ministries to share the gospel with a human touch among East Asia’s unreached peoples. We seek to “become Christ” in each place we serve, learning and respecting the local languages and culture. By God’s grace, OMF International will persevere until our mission is accomplished and our vision realized!

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
OMF International distinguishes between three different types of missionaries. Our short-term department, Serve Asia processes applicants that wish to go with a team or individually for less than 6 months. The candidate department processes applicants that wish to go for a 1-3 year term (called Associates) and those who wish to go longer (called Career Members). While many of the qualifications are the same between these three categories, there are some differences. Main qualifications include: -Age 18 or older -A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord. -Called/Directed/Lead, to follow the Mark 16: 15 & 16 directive. -Read and accept the Purpose & Principles of OMF, follow the guidelines outlined in the OMF Handbook. -Proper academic training and some Biblical background -Endorsement of a home church -Screening and Orientation Some differences based on length or type of assignment: -If serving under one year, some language is suggested and helpful, but not required. -If serving one to 3 years some language training within the country is strongly suggested.

Application and Candidacy Process
To begin the Candidacy processes (for Associates and Members), contact someone from OMF, either in person, telephone, via the Internet. An initial Application (Application One) needs to be filled out and returned. An interview follows this to see if the person wants to go on with longer applications. Included in this is the filling out of applications, securing references and doctrinal forms. Obtain 4 clearances: (Basically the same for Associates and Members) 1)Home side through paperwork and Candidate Course 2)Field side- obtaining a ‘field welcome’ from your intended country 3)Financial- being 100% pledged in support at least one month prior to going 4)Medical- physical and psychological clearance both in the States and the field you will serve on.

Training Program
OMF BridgeAsia volunteers are recruited and selected through a rigorous process and trained through a 3-week series that a Regional Mobilizer will go through with them. After that they will be released and mentored through their 1 year volunteer commitment in the BridgeAsia role they were trained for. OMF Serve Asia short-term workers are required to come to our May Orientation in Denver over Memorial Day weekend to receive basic cross-cultural training and field-specific training. When you return from your short-term trip, workers would come to one of two Debriefings in Southern California to allow time to relect on God’s work over the period of time you spend on the field. OMF long-term workers have a couple of trainings. The first one is at the two-week Candidate Course at the US Headquarters in Denver, CO where applicants will be introduced more fully to OMF International, our history and values. Before heading to the field (but after support is fully raised), there is a three and a half week Orientation Course at the OMF International Headquarters in Singapore for further cultural training. Once on the field, each field will have a language and culture orientation.

Funding
OMF recognizes the need for clear communication regarding finances. The evangelization of East Asia’s peoples—and the mobilization of the people to go, pray and give to accomplish that mission –costs money. So we seek to give appropriate information in a way that honors God as Jehovah Jireh, the One who provides. We also try to honor His people by giving financial information in a way that helps them prayerfully respond to God. In other words, we explain our financial needs and trust God for His provision. Each member individually raises financial support, usually through a team of churches and individuals. Members are usually funded through donations from personal supporters or churches. Some receive income from teaching or business. General funds given to OMF are shared with missionaries.

For our longer-term workers (10 months or more) we have a required 7-day orientation/training program that addresses a host of issues that will be pertinent to our missionaries particular service. In addition, we require a two week time of additional training after the first year of service. This additional training, entitled the Summer Institute, takes place in Kandern, Germany. Our short-term workers, most of which are volunteers at our 9 Summer English Camps, receive a 4-day period of orientation/training on site after arriving for their period of service.

Funding
The majority of our missionaries raise their full support through churches, family, and friends who desire to partner with them in their ministry. TeachBeyond provides support-raising resources and additional assistance throughout the support-raising process. The amount of support needed to be raised depends on the location where the missionary will be serving and any stipends that the school they are working at is able to offer them.

Vision
TeachOverseas.org gives North American Christians an opportunity to build significant friendships in classrooms around the world through teaching conversational English, Elementary Education and other subjects. Our team members are credible Christian witnesses who spend quality time with students and colleagues. No teaching experience or knowledge of a foreign language is needed to serve with us. Comprehensive pre-field training covers teacher training, cross-cultural adjustment, community building, and more. Teachers serve for a summer, a year or longer. Our teachers grow in their relationship with God as they experience another culture and share friendship, laughter and life with students in Muslim, Communist and former Communist nations. Positions currently are available in Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, North Africa, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Vietnam.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
Committed Cristian. Fluent English speaker. Bachelor’s degree for yearlong teachers. 18 or older for summer teachers (some college experience preferred.)

Application and Candidacy Process
Our application process is quick and easy – it includes a written application, references, phone interview, file review and invitation. This process is the same for summer and yearlong candidates. We encourage candidates to involve home churches in prayer and a relatively low amount of financial support.

Training Program
We provide extensive training prior to departure – a recent article in Christianity Today calls our training one of “the finest models of preparedness.” Summer teachers receive 7 days of training, and yearlong teachers receive 4 weeks of training in Pasadena, California. While all yearlong teachers hold at least a BA or BS degree from an accredited university, they are also trained and certified in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) methodology. Through our certification process, each teacher gains extensive classroom experience in a supervised setting. Teachers also receive significant preparation in cross-cultural adaptation, teamwork, community building and ministry.

Funding
Our teachers receive a salary comparable to a teacher’s salary in the host country. Housing and local health insurance is provided. A relatively low amount of support raising is necessary to cover training, administrative and international travel costs. Scholarships are available based on need. Loan deferment is available for most college loans.

Vision
TEAM is an evangelical, non-denominational, international mission whose purpose is to help churches send missionaries to establish reproducing churches among the nations to the glory of God – to reproduce the Body of Christ wherever the most people have the greatest need. This involves following the “moving target” of least-reached peoples, using creativity and innovation, and partnering with churches and agencies around the world. World mission demands servanthood and the incarnational representation of Jesus Christ. We seek to accomplish this through healthcare, theological education, English teaching, missionary children’s education, and technical and professional services (business / construction / agriculture / media / consulting), and through local church ministries (evangelism / youth / children / music / pastoral). TEAM has over 600 missionaries serving in 39 countries.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
TEAM evaluates short term applicants in a number of areas. These include their relationship to Christ, involvement in their church, character, flexibility, adaptability, teamwork, and the skills necessary for the particular assignment. TEAM evaluates long term applicants (those going for 6 months to career) in four major areas: character, call, competence, and compatibility. For both short and long term assignments, applicants are also evaluated on the basis of requisite credentials for their assignment (medical school for doctors, higher degrees for seminary professors, etc.).

Application and Candidacy Process
SHORT TERM (up to 6 months) TEAM evaluates short term applicants on the basis of a written application, references, and a background check. We look for strong character, flexibility, teamwork, and the skills necessary for the particular assignment. Once accepted, short term missionaries put together their support team and attend a one week training session before leaving for their overseas assignment. LONG TERM (6 months to career) TEAM evaluates long term applicants (those going for 6 months to career) in four major areas: character, call, competence, and compatibility. The application process begins when someone fills out the preliminary information form on TEAM’s website. After initial dialogue, an application is sent out. When we receive the completed application, we phone the pastor of the applicant’s sending church to affirm the church’s endorsement of the application and the applicant’s call to cross-cultural ministry, as well as to discuss placement issues. This is a requisite step to proceeding. We collect more information (resume, transcripts, references, etc.) and then conduct a telephone interview with the applicant. This is followed up with a biblical beliefs questionnaire, physical and mental health assessments, and a background check. The entire file of the applicant is then reviewed by a team of assessors who make the final decision regarding acceptance as a TEAM missionary candidate. Once approved as a candidate, the person attends a placement consultation to finalize the location and ministry in which the person will be serving. Once placement is confirmed, the person becomes an appointee and is able to start raising a support team.

Training Program
Life-long learning is one of TEAM’s core values, both for short term and long term missionaries. SHORT TERM (up to 1 year): Short term missionaries attend a week long orientation prior to their departure overseas. This includes orientation in theology, cross-cultural skills, travel safety, church relationships, dealing with expectations, and team building. Upon returning, short term missionaries attend a debriefing session to process their experience and look at next steps. LONG TERM (1 yr to career) Once appointed, new TEAM personnel attend a week-long orientation session. During this week, appointees are welcomed into TEAM, introduced to professional development, and given the tools needed to begin the support discovery process. As they launch into support discovery, appointees are linked together though online learning groups to facilitate growth. They also pursue any additional individual training that TEAM has recommended (this may include linguistics training, training for working with third-culture kids, etc.). When all their support is in, appointees attend another week of pre-departure orientation at TEAM headquarters to learn about intercultural skills and ministry effectiveness. Once overseas, missionaries begin language learning and cultural acquisition. Ongoing learning takes place as recommended through an evaluative review process.

Funding
TEAM missionaries are funded through the generous support of churches and individuals around the world who are committed to the vision of TEAM and the ministry of the specific missionary which they support. TEAM assists appointees in building these partnership relationships through the support discovery process. TEAM also works with foundations to obtain grants for various projects.

Vision
TechMission is a Christian nonprofit social service organization. Our values are Jesus, Justice and Technology. Our mission is to support Christian organizations in using technology to transform vulnerable communities. We believe that technology can be used to help develop a community and to bring justice to the world in Jesus’ name. Our TechMission Corps program places 60 full-time paid interns in the urban missions field each year. Our ChristianVolunteering.org website has over 5,500 volunteer and short term missions opportunites with over 4,000 ministries. Other websites include UrbanMinistry.org, which offers over 56,000 free resources for ministry to over 2.5 million unique visitors.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months

Qualifications for Applicants
Applicants for our TechMission Corps program must be at least 18 years old, have a high school degree or equivalent (GED), and must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Specific qualities that we look for in applicants include good people skills, the ability to work with children, and have a desire to learn. Those applicants with experience working with Black and Latino communities or non-profit community/faith-based organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants for our Christianvolunteering.net program should have a desire to work in urban communities, a willingness to learn, and good people skills. Individual ministries may have specific requirements and skill sets that they are seeking. The time frame for volunteer assignments listed on our ChristianVolunteering.net website are dependent on individual ministries and would most likely range from short-term (one or several days) to medium-term (over the course of a year).

Application and Candidacy Process
Our TechMission Corps members serve at urban ministries based in Boston or Los Angeles for one year, paid internships through AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps is a government-run program that provides nonprofit organizations across the country with full or partial-time paid interns through grants to assist organizations with providing direct service and capacity-building to address unmet community needs. TechMission Corps members serve in the community by integrating technology into youth and adult programs run by ministries in the community. These activities may include academic support, college prep, and workforce development through computer classes. Applicants interested in serving as a TechMission Corps member may apply by emailing their resume to the TechMission Volunteer Coordinator. An interview is set up with a TechMission Corps Director and then with TechMission Corps site directors. Finally, an applicant must fill out an application. TechMission also offers opportunities for people to volunteer with urban ministries across the country in numerous interest areas. The length of these assignments will vary according to site needs and applicant interest. People who are interested in volunteering with a ministry will be able to search for opportunities to serve and send their information directly to ministry sites through our ChristianVolunteering.net website. Applicants will be contacted by the sites. We plan to bring a portable computer lab with our booth to allow people interested in volunteering to immediately sign up for short-term urban missions opportunities at the Urbana conference. This will also provide missions organizations at the conference another means of recruiting volunteers to serve.

Training Program
All TechMission Corps members undergo a three day Pre-Service Orientation before they begin service. The curriculum for this training covers AmeriCorps required training components. However, TechMission has also developed curriculum for these trainings that address cross-cultural issues and equip TMC members to confront the issues of poverty that they will be facing on a daily basis. Beyond the initial orientation, TechMission Corps members also receive training through monthly meetings with the TechMission Corps directors, as well as conference calls. These additional trainings equip TMC members to better serve at their sites, while also providing them support as they adjust to and confront the challenges of urban ministry. Site directors also receive orientations from the TechMission Corps directors, as well as periodic meetings to better serve their sites. Churches and social service organizations that post listings for volunteers on our ChristianVolunteering.net website will provide training to their volunteers on an individual site basis. TechMission also provides extensive volunteer training materials through Webcast, MP3 and Webpages. TechMission has also developed curriculum to assist sites in training and managing volunteers. This curriculum is provided on our website for sites to use.

Funding
TechMission Corps members are each awarded a monthly living stipend, an educational award, child care, and health care benefits through AmeriCorps funding. We have had an ongoing relationship with AmeriCorps for the past two years and anticipate that we will renew funding for the TechMission Corps program in the future. Some sites may also provide TechMission Corps members with reimbursement for rent expenses. Funding for our TechMission staff members and the 500 member sites we support in our Association of Christian Community Computer Centers program (AC4) are raised from a combination of federal grants and private grants. Volunteers placed at individual sites may or may not need to be funded, depending on each individual site’s needs and preferences.

Vision
Youth With A Mission is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Our calling is to know God and to make Him known. Back when we began in 1960, our main focus was to get youth into short-term mission work and to give them opportunities to reach out in Jesus’ name. Today, we still focus on youth, and we also involve people of almost every age (even many people who choose to spend their “retirement” in active service). Our many ministries fit into three main categories: evangelism, training and mercy ministry. We are currently operating in more than 1189 locations in over 171 countries, with a staff of 16,590.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years

Qualifications for Applicants
You can serve with YWAM on an outreach trip, as a student, or as a staff member or volunteer. To join as staff, you must first complete a Discipleship Training School (DTS), which is offered in over 200 locations around the world. YWAM has no centralized application process. Although YWAM does have main offices, we encourage you to contact our field locations directly for details about applying, schedules, and costs. YWAM staff members are involved in long-term missions, and desire to see specific goals reached in the overall task of world evangelism. Their ministry commitment in YWAM can range from two years to a lifetime. Since YWAM is expanding, the range of staff opportunities is as well. Volunteering for YWAM could mean giving a few hours a week at a YWAM location near you, or spending a year serving overseas.

Application and Candidacy Process
Before joining staff, you must complete a Discipleship Training School. This intensive Christian training course begins with an 11 or 12 week classroom phase followed by a 12 week outreach (typically). Applications and character references are required. Forms required may vary depending on location.

Training Program
Our Discipleship Training School (DTS)is the first step for students or staff. The DTS is designed to encourage students to develop in personal character, to cultivate a living relationship with God, and to identify their unique individual gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout these courses, preparing the students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:19.

Funding
Every YWAM worker, including the founder, Loren Cunningham, raises enough funds to meet his or her own financial needs. For most people in YWAM, these funds come from friends, family and churches who contribute financially.

4. Christar

Vision
Eden Vigil is an environmental missions initiative which seeks to mobilize, train, and professionally support missionaries who can fully integrate traditional church-planting with effective Creation Care. Eden Vigil places environmental missionaries with other like-minded agencies, particularly those working with least-reached Buddhist, East Asian, Hindu, and Muslim people groups. In this, our primary but not exclusive partner is Christar, our parent organization. Our vision is predicated on the belief that “environmental crisis–and even global climate change in particular–represents the greatest opportunity for church-planting among the least-reached in our generation.” An environmental vision for the Church must be built on love for people, and a joy in the glories of Christ evident in His created.
Training Program
Beginning the summer of 2010, Eden Vigil and our partner, Care of Creation, intend to offer a three-week “Summer Institute of Environmental Missions.” Professional grads will be trained in cross-cultural ministry skills. Bible college/seminary grads will be trained in environmental development skills. Both groups will be trained in a theology of Creation Care and in the integration of evangelism and Creation Care. Eden Vigil will then help place environmental missionaries with Christar and other traditional cross-cultural agencies, all of whom have their own training requirements for new personnel.

We work in community. 3. Our goal is redeemed communities of Muslims. 4. We are field-led. 5. We are grace-oriented. 6. Training Program
One of our highest values is life-long learning. We are always in training. Our training recognizes five areas in which we must be growing if we are to be godly, effective Gospel-planters among Muslims. The five focus areas are Communion (with God), Community (with each other), Character, Content and Competence. We have several venues for beginning and progressing in this training. 1. 4. GAP Teams (7-13 months) have a unique training element in a Muslim community in the US before moving to the Middle East. 5. Special Assignment offers opportunities to learn on a field team for up to a year. 6. iPACT (Intensive Professional and Cross-Cultural Training) is offered in various places around the world. Six weeks of in-depth Bible study and challenging practical assignments show you what you are made of, and how God can work through you anyway.

Funding
Most raise their support from churches, friends and family. Some are engaging in for-profit business. We don’t want you to be just a pin on a map. We want you to be an essential part of your church’s vision to complete the Great Commission. It may be that you will stimulate that vision for the church.

10 W. Dry Creek Circle
Littleton CO 80120 Us

info@omf.org
www.us.omf.org

These pioneer missionaries are ordinary people who trust God to accomplish the extraordinary through them. This is what PIONEERS is about. Training Program

An active prayer life is important. We look for a strong conviction that God is leading a person into missions. Love for God and a desire to glorify Him, no matter what, is a top priority. We expect a committment and involvement in a local church. We expect a lifestyle that demonstrates an attitude of self-discipline, teachability, servanthood, flexibility, accountability, initiative, perseverance, sense of humor, the ability to be a team player? There are academic qualifications that will be required, depending on the type of ministry and length of term. Some countries require a degree for entry. Any cross-cultural ministry will require a specific skill-set or academic preparation. For longer terms, a specific regimen of Bible training is required. Cross-cultural ministry requires that you be in good physical, emotional, and psychological health. Going out with a mission agency means joining a team. All applicants will move from initial contact to receipt of an application. The application process is more detailed for people planning on service over 9 months.

TWR regards the local church as the sending agency who provides nurturing, prayer and support for their missionaries.

Training Program
Due to the diverse technologies used in mass media, most positions require training or education in a particular skill prior to acceptance into TWR. All TWR missionary appointees are provided with coaching, encouragement and accountability in support raising. Interns and short-term missionaries are mentored in their personal walk with Christ, job-related skills and adjustment to their host culture. parlund@allnations.us
www.allnations.us

Vision
HOPE International’s mission is to invest in the dreams of the poor in the world’s underserved communities so that they might be released from physical and spiritual poverty. We accomplish this by offering small business loans, savings services, biblically-based business training, and mentoring and coaching from a Christ-centered perspective.

Expected terms of service:
1-3 months
3-18 months
2-4 years
4 years or longer

Qualifications for Applicants
HOPE seeks out employees with the heart of a missionary, the mind of a banker, and the soul of a development worker. HOPE hires candidates based on their technical skills related to the position, based on their “mission fit” (adherence to HOPE’s statement of faith and commitment to HOPE’s mission and vision), and understanding of HOPE’s direct service program, microenterprise development. Overseas assignments often require individuals with more advanced-level technical skills (language requirements, international experience, cross-cultural understanding, etc). Leadership positions typically require more experience as well.

Application and Candidacy Process
Initial application requires submission of a cover letter and resume. Candidates whose application materials render them acceptable are then presented with the salary range (allowing for self-withdrawal if necessary) and asked several questions to be returned via e-mail regarding “mission fit”. Those candidates whose answers render them acceptable are then considered for a preliminary phone interview with the HR Generalist. Remaining candidates are then brought into headquarters for a day of in-person interviewing (consisting of a panel interview and several one-on-one interviews with the Executive Team).

Training Program
HOPE’s training programs for new personnel vary widely depending on the position and the employee’s experience. Expatriate employees typically visit HOPE’s Central Service Unit for a week-long training period in addition to attending conferences for technical skills training in their field. International volunteers typically go through a 2-3 day training conference in HOPE’s Central Service Unit. If the new employee does not speak the local business language (which is uncommon), their training will often also involve language instruction in the field. HOPE’s Member Care Coordinator oversees caring for expatriate staff’s ongoing emotional, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. As most HOPE expatriate staff are serving for terms of five years or less, the amount of training described above is fairly standard for all expatriate staff.

Funding
Unless HOPE staffers volunteer to raise their own support or work as volunteers, or unless HOPE advertises a particular position as volunteer, all of HOPE’s full-time employees are paid a salary. HOPE covers overhead expenses, including employee salaries, using funds that HOPE’s fundraising team raises.
