Tension Rises Between North Korea and South Korea

Tension continues to escalate in an already tense situation between North Korea and South Korea. According to this report from Mission Network News, North Korea has “invalidated the 2004 accord designed to prevent an escalation of war along the Demilitarized Zone,  a 2.5-mile-wide buffer between Korea’s two opposing armies.” All this is the result of an incident in March where 46 sailors died as a South Korean navy corvette was torpedoed. International investigators  have concluded that North Korea was behind the attack, a charge that has angered the reclusive communist regime. Possible retaliations from both sides could mean serious consequence for the region and its people. New York Times has more on the situation.

Please uphold this situation in your prayer.
